You just have to convince them of your reasons, is all. I can understand their concern, considering your previous habits, but if you really want to go vegetarian, then you should go for it!! Being a vegetarian really doesn't help you lose weight. I became a teenage vegetarian around 2 years ago now, and my unhealthy diet meant that I even gained weight at first! After I fixed that problem, my weight went down, same as it would for any meat-eater! You've just got to eat healthy!

Other than that, your reasons for becoming a vegetarian are (in my opinion) the best there is! It may be difficult for your parents to understand how you feel (my parents still don't!), but stick to it and you'll do fine!

tell your parents what you are telling everyone here. you have good arguments on why you want to be vegetarian and show them that you are really devoted to it and that you can eat right too and even gain weight without having to eat meat look more into the diet so you show them how you want to be responsible in your diet not to lose weight and do more research on the benifits of being vegetarian to show them this is important to you. also did you know if everyone in the world were to stop eatting meat there would be food for everyone and no one would be hungry? reason why is because all the land that is used now to keep animals and to kill them for food only can feed so little people but if people were to use that land for growing food it would grow so much more then just the animals can provide. good luck and i hope you convince them!

congrats on joining the team!! icon biggrin Which of the following statements is FALSE about plasma membrane? im a polo-pescitarian (thats not the actual name) which means i only eat fish and chiken. this is the compromise i made with my parents. my dad is still very against it but my mom has allowed it. me being raised in a russian house hold, being a polo-pescitarian isnt bad at all but very hard. you can get meat replacement foods that are actually quite healthy and give you the same nutrition as meat. eat lots of seeds or penut butter to keep up your protein and do alot of research. in fact, pull up a few vegitarian videos (if your parents have hearts, they too might just cry watching those) showing them your research and comp-romises, you gain their trust and show that you mean bussiness. it seems like homework but if you really want to be a vegitarian, it'll become interesting and useful for if they permit you to become one. good luck!!!
